He graduated at the Medical Faculty of the University Ljubljana, followed by a career as a general practitioner at the Medical Centre Ljubljana. He gained additional experiences in a private medical practice in Germany. Afterwards he specialized in internal medicine – cardiology at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana followed by a move from the medical to the pharmaceutical environment.
He worked with Zeneca in Germany, successfully launching its intravenous anesthesia portfolio and 2nd generation ACE-inhibitors in north Bavaria.
In 1993 he joined the global pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Company at the very beginning of its operations in Slovenia. For 13 years he coordinated cooperation with hospitals and clinics, used to be a Product Specialist for innovative cardiological medicines and managed the local mental health and CNS portfolios. As a manager of a local Affiliate he successfully developed it and established excellent working relationships with, ZZZS (Health Insurance) and MZZ (Ministry of Health). He actively participated at foundation and development of FIRDPC, the local association of international R&D pharmaceutical industry.
From 2005 till 2008 he was Sales Manager, National Therapeutic Advisor and New Business development Manager at Lilly Critical Care Europe – managing sepsis and acute coronary syndromes portfolios in the vast areas of Central and Southeastern Europe and Turkey.
Since 2008 he has been employed at Ideje, koncepti in zgodbe. Because of his excellent organization skills, successful work with people, good crisis management and management of changes, out-of-box thinking, knowledge of medical economics, exceptional successes in cooperation with patient advocacy groups, deep understanding of corporate pharmaceutical industry,cardiology, intensive care medicine and mental health, he is a respected and sought expert in national, multiethnical and multinational environments.
He likes to cook and fell karst wood – both is a stimulation for thinking about new challenges.
